Political Ad Paid for by the Ericka McCrutcheon Campaign, Margaret Seff, Treasurer

Meet Ericka

Ericka ran for Houston City Council in 2019 and 2023 and is considered a gatekeeper in her community. She is running for Harris Central Appraisal District Board At-Large, Position #3.  She continues to serve her community as President of the Kirkwood Civic Club, HCRP Precinct Chair #076 and Pastor of Joint Heirs Fellowship Church. She is the small business owner of The Dunamis Group, LLC, a remodeling company with a niche market in Dialysis, a licensed Realtor, and property manager with Royce Realty and a Life/Health Insurance Agent and Medicare Specialist with Banker’s Life & Casualty helping retirees mitigate pitfalls of retirement. She is a servant leader!

Ericka holds a B.A. from Grand Canyon University – Graduating Summa Cum Laude in Christian Studies with Emphasis in Biblical Studies (2021).  Rhema Bible College (Tulsa, Oklahoma) –Two-year Ministerial Diploma with emphasis in practical Ministry (1988); A.A. University of Florida (1982) - General Education/College of Engineering Computer Science Major (1985).

In November 2023, the voters spoke by passing Proposition 4 allowing for the ELECTION of appraisal district board members in counties of 75, 000 or more. This win changed the dynamics of the Harris County Appraisal board, giving voters a voice and opportunity to elect their representatives. In the past the Harris County Appraisal District (HCAD) board consisted of the county tax assessor-collector and other APPOINTED members of various governing entities of the county, city, school districts and community colleges. Proposition 4 allows for the elections of three new members to the Harris Central Appraisal District board (name changed in Aug 2022) and I am running to be a voice that represents the taxpayers of Harris County to:

Ensure the integrity of the tax appraisal roll and valuations.

Ensure that taxation is clean, level, and uniform according to the Law.

Ensure taxpayers receive commonsense fairness when disputing property taxes.
